Called their ‘miracle lady’ by the oncology team, her fight ended last Friday, while comforted by her family. Joyce was a 30-year teacher of mathematics with the Etobicoke Board of Education; 37-year partner and supporter for husband Cam; lifetime guide of son Rob (Beki) and daughter Arleigh (Ryan); tireless playmate of grandchildren Mira and Liam; little sister to Roy (Pris). A Celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. West, east of the Jane, on Thursday, October 8, 2009 from 6-9 p.m. with a short service at 7 p.m. Donations can be made to Lori’s Legacy at St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation, providing private rooms for cancer care.
